If desired, you can schedule a free, brief 15-minute phone consultation to make contact with Dr. Kessler and begin the process of becoming a client. This is not a clinical contact. It is meant to assist with questions regarding scheduling, fees and payment and provide a link to complete initial paperwork that is required prior to a full intake evaluation.
In therapy, your provider will do their best to understand you and your presenting problems, help you gain insight and perspective to address problem areas, and assist you in clarifying what it is that you want for yourself and what steps you can take to achieve your goals. Length of therapy varies depending on presenting problems and stated goals.
50-minute initial clinical interview. Background will continue to be taken as work is done together.
50-min is standard. Shorter therapy sessions may be scheduled as appropriate.
The initial intake is scheduled with both parties of the couple. An evaluation is performed with both parties separately. Couple's sessions are 50 minutes.
Family sessions are conducted as an adjunct to individual therapy to assist treatment.
Psychological testing is a process of measuring various aspects of your psychological functioning, such as your cognitive abilities, personality traits, emotional states, or behavioral patterns. Psychological testing may be recommended by your therapist or requested by you or a member of your treatment team to help with diagnosis, treatment planning, or progress evaluation. It is important to note that psychological testing may not result in the outcome that you expect or desire.

Administration (either in person or via technological means) and scoring of tools and assessments.
Reviewing records, collecting collateral information, interpreting results of tools administered, preparing a report, and providing a feedback report with recommendations.
The psychological testing process can assist to gather evidence to support diagnoses of the following types of disorders: Neurodevelopmental, Psychotic, Bipolar and Related, Depressive, Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive and Related, Trauma- and Stressor-Related, Somatic Symptom, Feeding and Eating, Sleep-Wake, Substance-Related and Addictive, Neurocognitive, and Personality. All diagnoses are based on DSM-5 criteria.
